Learning Target Overview
The Learning Target feature is designed to help admins drive engagement by setting clear completion requirements for a group of learners. You can set targets based on total viewing hours or specific Custom Learning Paths.
Learners can track their progress directly in the learning environment and receive automated reminder emails to stay motivated and hit their goals.
To use this feature, you must first create a group of learners. Each group can only have one learning target.
How to Set a Learning Target
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to the Groups page and select the group you want to set a target for.
-
Open the Learning Target tab and choose your target type:
- Learning Time: Set a required number of total hours for learners to complete.
- Custom Learning Path: Set Custom Learning Paths so learners can complete a specific set of courses. The Custom Learning Path must be published first before it can selected.
- Enter the target name (visible to learners), period (start and end dates), and the target details. You can also choose if you want learners to receive automated reminder emails based on their progress. For details about learning target emails, please see this article.
Click Next, review the settings, and select Set Learning Target to publish it.
Note: On the start date of the learning target, an initial announcement email will be sent to all learners in the group. Please be aware that this email is not sent if the start date is set in the past, or if it is scheduled for the current day after 10:00 AM (JST).
Managing a Learning Target after Setup
Once a target is set, you can check its details and track learner progress from the Learning Target tab.

How Learning Target Appears to Learners
Once a target is set in the Admin Dashboard, it will become visible to learners in their learning environment. Please note that the interface is subject to change with future system updates.
-
If set by Learning Time:
The target hours and current progress are displayed prominently at the top of the Home screen and on the My Page dashboard. -
If set by Custom Learning Paths:
The specific Custom Learning Path will be marked with a "Required" tag next to its name on the Home screen and the Custom Learning Paths screen. Progress tracking will also appear on the Home screen and My Page dashboard.
How Learning Time is Calculated
If you set a target based on Learning Time, please note:
- Learning time only includes the time a learner spends watching a course for the first time. Re-watching a course that has already been marked as complete will not count toward the target.
- If a learner exports their learning history from a previous plan, any learning time from that history will be included, provided it falls within the active period of the learning target.
